Ludacris Gives Advice To Up And Coming MC's

"I actualy wrote a song called 'Tell It Like It Is," Luda explained in an interview referring to his 2006 record. "And one of the things that I said was 'The first thing I did was signed myself to myself,' which was Disturbin' Tha Peace Records and I incorporated it at a young age therefore if somebody wanted to sign me, they had to sign my company. I have a very unique deal, I came out with an independent album and I was selling records on my own, which gave me leverage when Def Jam came to me and said 'We wanna sign you to a contract.' So I'm sitting there saying well this is what I'm doing on my own, I'm already making this amount of money. What can you do for me that's going to make me interested in signing to your company, so I definitely encourage everyone to get as much leverage as you can. The only way you can do that is by putting your b*lls on the table. All the way on it. Because man, it's crazy, a lot of people want success and aren't willing to do what it takes to get success or earn success." (FUSE TV)

Jim Jones A Teacher?

Dame Grease Speaks On Producing New DMX Album

"I'm trying to get him[DMX] back into a free creative mode. We've been recording in my crib. There's no pressures, no media, no studio time count," said Dame. "We got a couple joints for mixtapes, a couple joints for underground just trying to actually get his career back together. He's good, besides this silliness right here. Hopefully it works out because he didn't violate the judge or anything [in that video]. He just spoke to the camera. But it's almost like anything he does is amplified a thousand times over. They said he was acting crazy. He just said, 'Yo, they f*ckin with me.'" (VIBE)

T.I. To Drop An Album In August

T.I. released the following statement confirming his new album scheduled for August release:

"I really do appreciate the support and how hard y'all was going in during the brief hiatus,"  "The support don't go unnoticed and I don't take it lightly. This marks a special day for us, because we putting out the first song off the album, not an official first single, just something to keep the streets warm. It's properly entitled 'I'm Back.' It's a lot of things that needed to be spoken on, you know. In my absence, it was a lot of things that went down, a lot of matters that needed to be addressed and this was the greatest platform for me to do it...Album drops August 24th, title? I got one but I ain't gonna say it yet. It was the first song I did when I came home. You get me fresh out the box going in. I'm sure you guys will enjoy it...Middle of April, beginning of May. Y'all gonna start seeing me. Y'all already know, once again it's on. Like we always do this time." (Rap Radar)

Weezy in PC?

New York (CNN) -- Lil' Wayne was sentenced Monday to a year in prison.
The rapper, whose legal name is Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty in October to felony gun charges as part of a deal with prosecutors.
The charges stem from his arrest in 2007 outside New York City's Beacon Theater. According to police, Carter had a .40-caliber pistol on his tour bus. His attorney said it belonged to someone else.
His sentencing was delayed twice -- first so he could get dental work done, including removal of his diamond-studded braces, then because of a fire at a Manhattan courthouse.
At Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, the room was packed with onlookers, while more people crowded outside.
Carter was offered the chance to make a statement but declined, shaking his head.
His attorney requested that Carter have protective custody while he is incarcerated. The attorney also requested medical attention because of his recent dental surgery.
AsCarter was leaving the courtroom, a fan said to him, "Keep your head up, Weezy," using the rapper's nickname.
Another man wore a T-shirt that said "Free Weezy."
Carter also faces felony drug possession and weapons charges in Arizona.
